Hello there, I'm Bex. I'm a 25-year-old girl, who has Cerebral Palsy (CP). This year will be my 4th time participating in the Sunrise Ascent. Last year was the first time that the weather cooperated, letting all teams go up. I was super excited to finally get to make the long journey up to the summit of Mt. Washington. It took my team and I a little over 4 1/2 hours to reach the top...not bad, considering it was our first time ascending. I was able to help push up the Auto Road, by propelling the wheelchair bike I was in, with my arms. It was a workout, but totally worth it. I can't wait to do it again, this year. I’ll be the only athlete from my adaptive program, New England Disabled Sports (NEDS) this year to participate in this breathtaking journey.

Another reason why I love to participate in the Sunrise Ascent is to be a role model to others with disabilities. I believe that my ability to do things, is greater than my disability. Always believe in yourself and keep an open mind. What might seem impossible to you, could become possible, if you just put your mind to it. Don’t hold back on things you want to try, because who knows, you might end up really enjoying it. My motto is, “If you can dream it, you can do it”, and that has come true for me in a lot of things that I do. KEEP CALM & BELIEVE ON!!!
