I am fortunate to be able to balance family friends work and my love of an outdoor active lifestyle.  In the summer of 2010 I saw a random FB post for volunteer hiking guides and was introduced to the New England Regional Ski for Light family.  Their mission is to promote and encourage visually impaired and blind adults to participate in physically demanding activities they might not otherwise experience.  Adaptive Sports of the North Country helps us make that possible with equipment and specialized guidance.  What started as a walk in the woods with strangers has become so much more.  The freedom of mobility that some take for granted and others squander is a struggle, a challenge, and a life long goal for others.  A resounding statement that they are mentally and physically determined and capable of conquering whatever is placed before them.  I am proud to be a mule for Team Walking Strong to support the great work and the difference in lives that Adaptive Sports of the North Country makes.  One step at a time we will summit 6,288' of challenge together on this journey.  If you would like to help us reach our goals great if you want to send encouraging words of support fantastic, if you want to whisper prayers for incredible weather that would be very much appreciated (but seriously please).
