Hello there, I'm Bex! I am a 24 year old, who has Cerebral Palsy. I have been sit skiing with New England Disabled Sports (NEDS) for about 6 years now and I absolutely love it. I am almost at the end of the road of becoming completely independent. This past season, along with making my weekly Saturday trips up to Loon Mountian, something was brought to my attention from one of my main instructors. He suggusted that I try a sit ski called the Kartski that was at both Waterville Valley and Cannon Mountian. I took his word on it and tried it out and I'm sure glad that I did. It was so much fun and really easy to use. I picked it up really fast too, which was very impressive, considering I only used it twice, during the season. I hope some day soon I can rip down the trails at Loon in it. Besides the skiing part of it, I have made a lot of new friends at NEDS. Everyone there, has become my second family. Moving on to the Sunrise Ascent. This year will be my 3rd time participating in it. I really hope that the saying ''3rd times a charm'' comes true for actually getting to hike the Auto Road this year, instead of having to do the alterative hike, 3 years in a row, due to bad weather on the Auto Road. At least this event is still a lot of fun, no matter if we hike the road or the alterative. I want to be a role model for those with disabilites. You can do anything that you put your mind to. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something that you want to do or try, because that someting is possible. No matter how hard or easy it is, theres always a way to make it happen. My motto is ''if you can dream it, you can do it'' and so far that has come true for me.
