I will be on Team Bella for the Ascent on Mt. Washington and I am thrilled to participate.

Please consider helping Bella in reaching her goal on August 2nd for the Sunrise Ascent on Mount Washington, a fundraiser to benefit Adaptive Sports Partners of the North Country.  I really appreciate what Adaptive and its many volunteers do daily to support people with disabilities who enjoy sports and the natural world.  Unless you volunteer with such an organization, it may be hard for you to imagine the enormous joy these activities provide for people who might otherwise not be able to participate.  The programs include hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, gardening, swimming, golf, skiing, snowboarding, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair soccer, boccia and the list goes on! Adaptive volunteers also work with local schools so students with disabilities can participate more fully on educational fieldtrips.

All these efforts take money!  We need to help fund Adaptive's small but amazingly talented staff, very expensive equipment, site fees, etc.  We hope this Ascent will illustrate the needs as well as let some of our participants demonstrate their will to achieve.

This event means so much to Bella for many reasons.  So many important people in her life (friends, family, teachers, etc) become involved and as “mules” help bring her up the mountain.  She loves them being part of and learning more about her adaptive world.  We have lots of Team Bella events including meetings, practice hikes, and fundraising events that brings us all together and are a blast!  Read More
